Water Transportation in Lagos State Receives a boost as Hon. Adewale Temitope Joined Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu To Launch LASWA Data Centre.

The Lagos state transport sector continues to get the attention of the current administration as transportation takes the core of its THEME agenda for sustainable growth and attainment of the mega city status

It was the turn of the Lagos State Waterways Authority (LASWA) to witness the commitment of the government to providing facilities and infrastructure that would aid the smooth running of the authority and thereby strengthen its safety capacity. 


The investment in this sector will also boost the confidence of commuters using the Lagos State Water Transport services with the injection and activation of modern monitoring equipment that would enhance the security across the state's waterways transportation network. 

 Hon. Adewale Temitope, he House Committee Chairman on Transportation on Friday 16th December 2022 joined the performing governor of Lagos state to commission the newly installed waterways Monitoring and data management center ( WMDMC) at the five Cowrie Terminal office of the Lagos state waters Authority (LASWA) in ikoyi Lagos.

The event also witnessed the official handing over of two ( 2) Patrol boats and then I'm willing of the U-SAFE rescuing gadgets for emergency rescue operations on waterways. 

These data management center is equipped with modern technology that centralized the monitoring of all activities on the waterways in other to generate real-time information, enhance safety, and gather data for continuous improvement of the operation of the inland waterway.

Hon. Adewale while speaking at the event thanked the governor for his continued investment in the transportation sector of the economy of the state and his commitment towards making Lagos's transport sector a reference point in Africa and the whole world.

He further added,  " today we are witnessing the commissioning of a data center that will monitor and enhance safety on our waterways and create a sense of safety in the mind of Lagosians using the water transport system". He said, " the launching of the D.J. I. Aerial drone, Blueeye pro drone for underwater search and U-SAFE rescuing equipment has further shown that the government meant well for the safety and the welfare of the people"

Present at the event is the Deputy Governor of Lagos state, Dr. Obafemi Kadri Hamzat,  commissioner for transportation, Dr. Frederic Oladehinde, LASWA GM, Damilola Emmanuel, captains of industry and well-meaning Nigerian.
